The Allies family congratulates Colin Fox, Senior Director of Health Information Management, on his recent achievement of becoming a Therap® Certified Trainer.

To earn the Therap Trainer Certification, candidates are required to demonstrate their ability to virtually train on a Therap module, show awareness of available help and support materials, pass the Certified Trainers Course and complete at least two other Therap Academy Courses.

Allies selected Therap as its electronic health record vendor in 2017, during a crucial time in which the state of New Jersey was changing the way providers were compensated for services.

Colin shared, “The transition and implementation process went seamlessly, and we continue to make use of the software in new and exciting ways. Ultimately, we want to continue to provide a comprehensive system in which our individual health data is easily accessible to our users, compliant, and secure.”

Colin said, “I went through the process of becoming a Therap Certified Trainer because I am always searching for new methods to learn and grow as a professional. Even after using and implementing modules within the system for over 5 years, I can acknowledge that there is still so much more to explore and discover.”

In implementing the Therap software, Colin learned very quickly that there is a critical need to be flexible and adaptable to the ever-changing landscape and regulations of our field. “I felt that becoming a certified trainer would provide me, along with our agency, access to some additional resources which could aid in our quality of care and be beneficial for future initiatives,” said Colin.

Additional benefits of becoming a trainer include:

  • The ability to help broaden Allies’ network and reach, by connecting with other Therap users, industry leaders, and experts
  • Receiving an early look at new Therap modules and release updates
  • The opportunity to participate in the development of training materials and resources
  • Access to an online community – the Certified Trainers Discussion Group
  • Invitations to attend exclusive workshops and Certified Trainers Summits
  • The opportunity to present or participate in webinars and User Groups

Another reason why Colin was motivated to become a certified trainer was because he feels a strong affinity with the Therap certified training vision, which is to lead, collaborate, and advocate for the development and usage of Therap to enhance the quality of life for the individuals we support and their providers.

Colin said, “I am a huge proponent of the use of technology within the healthcare field and feel that the work being done within our electronic health records directly, as well as indirectly, creates a positive impact on the people we serve.”

Colin is extremely eager for what is to come at Allies. He enthusiastically shared, “We have some exciting plans for the second half of 2022 and beyond, and my objective is to utilize our team’s industry knowledge, innovation, and collaboration to transform our system and take it to the next level.”
