Elizabeth M. Shea, Chief Compliance Officer

Liz is an attorney and disabilities advocate with extensive experience in the human services sector in New Jersey. Liz began her career after law school working with runaway and homeless youth in Newark and Atlantic City, which sparked her passion for serving vulnerable populations, particularly those with disabilities. Since that time, she has held various positions in the developmental disabilities field in New Jersey, both in and outside of state government. Most notably, Liz served as the Assistant Commissioner in the New Jersey Department of Human Services, responsible for the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities during massive system reforms from 2011 – 2017.

Liz has extensive subject matter expertise in federal and state Medicaid waiver programs; design and implementation of quality service programs for individuals with disabilities; development of compliance and quality processes; and integration of social services systems. Liz also serves as Counsel to the law firm of Porzio Bromberg & Newman in Morristown, New Jersey.
