Allies Graduates Third DSP Certification Class

Allies recently celebrated the latest class of students to graduate from Allies’ DSP Certification Program.

The DSP Certification Program has been designed to foster professional and personal growth among Allies Community Support Staff and Community Integrated Support Services staff. The program is designed to impart participants with key competencies intended to enhance their ability to meet the needs of those we support. This program graduated 16 students.

“It was gratifying to guide this class through the DSP Certification Program,” Shoshana Miller, Employee Development Specialist and Career Navigator at Allies, said. “The participants were selected from large pool of applicants and were recommended by their leadership. Everyone showed up enthusiastic to learn.”

This is the third class to graduate from the DSP certification program. The program spans four quarters, each of which is focused on a specific area of professional development. Upon satisfactory completion, participants received raises to reflect their accomplishment and commitment to professional development.

The existence of the DSP certification class reflects Allies’ commitment to empower staff who make it possible for Allies to pursue its mission.

“Allies strives to be an employer of choice and create a work environment where staff feel supported in their learning and advancement,” Miller said. “The program gives staff the opportunity to gain additional knowledge and enhance their skills beyond mandatory training.”

The program opens a door toward higher expertise and additional earnings without requiring participants to commit to a full higher education experience. The opportunity gives participants a taste of higher education while opening the door for networking and knowledge sharing among peers, Miller said.

“I’m proud of every individual that graduated this program. It took dedication and commitment to make it through this year-long program,” Miller said. “I hope the graduates take the learning and connections with them as they continue in their careers. I look forward to continuing to support their growth and seeing what they accomplish next!”

The graduation was celebrated at the final class session on January 27.

“I want you all to pat yourselves on the back, you have done an incredible job,” Mike Haggerty, MS, President of Allies, told graduates. “I am grateful for each and every one of you and celebrate your success and commitment to further development of your profession career.”
